Lookers is launching its Lookers Electric Charge at the Confused.com London Motor Show 2018 to raise money for industry charity Ben.
The dealer group will showcase electric vehicles at show and one pound from every ticket sold for the automotive show will be donated to Ben to help colleagues in the automotive industry who are struggling with life’s challenges.
CEO Andy Bruce took on the BEN Industry Leader Challenge for 2018 hoping to raise substantial funds for the charity.
Last year JLR UK boss Jeremy Hicks and the Jaguar Land Rover team raised £214,000. Bruce is hoping to improve on this, handing over a cheque to the charity at The Ben Ball later this year.
Lookers carbon-free challenge will see a relay of electric vehicles travel 2,000 miles, visiting each of Lookers 155 franchised dealerships, where a wide variety of fundraising activities are planned.
The group is holding golf days, green energy workshops and other events to promote Ben and raise funds for the charity.
Bruce said: “We are very excited to be launching the Lookers Electric Charge at The Confused.com London Motor Show and have lots of fund raising activities planned.
“Central to this is our aim to travel to each site while remaining carbon neutral. The initiative will enable us to shine a light on a number of important topics and join timely conversations, whether that’s assessing the current state of the electric car industry, the actions we can all take to reduce our carbon footprint and, of course, the fantastic work that Ben is doing within the motor retail community.”
