Jennings Motor Group is to pump £1m into refurbishing its Ford business in Middlesbrough.
Construction work, which is expected to take up to seven months to complete, will see the existing Cargo Fleet Lane dealership turned into a flagship Ford Store, one of 68 currently in the UK.
The new showroom will have 3,500sqft more space and space to display 10 new vehicles instead of the current five.
Managing director of Jennings Nas Khan OBE, said: “We are delighted to announce that work is due to start on site at Middlesbrough, which will see the transformation of the existing Ford branch into a highly prestigious Ford Store, where customers will be given the opportunity to experience and enjoy a more immersive and interactive sales experience.
“These are very busy, but extremely exciting times for the company with a number of future expansion and refurbishment plans in the pipeline for other dealerships across the group.”
Jennings Ford opened its Middlesbrough-based dealership in 2000. The Cargo Fleet Lane supersite also operates a Ford Transit Centre, a Used Van Centre, in addition to Seat and Mazda franchises.
Jennings also operates Ford dealerships in Stockton and Gateshead, in addition to Kia, Mazda and SEAT franchises, Harley-Davidson dealerships, a Used Car Outlet, and a Subway store. Jennings is rated 70 in the Motor Trader Top 200 with annual turnover of £209m.
