Motor Codes has given the thumbs up to Vauxhall's introduction of a lifetime 100,000 mile warranty for its new cars, starting 1 August.
The lifetime warranty goes beyond the standards set by Motor Codes, it said.
"This new initiative from Vauxhall is an industry first and is perfectly aligned with Motor Codes in providing consumer confidence in new cars, garages and warranties," said Chris Mason, Motor Codes director.
Vauxhall committed itself to improving its customer satisfaction ratings with the appointment of Andy Gilson as its new customer experience and corporate strategy director earlier this year.
Vauxhall managing director Duncan Aldred (pictured) told Motor Trader in the July issue that the company had fallen behind in the way it treated customers and it needed to improve.
"If we are really honest at Vauxhall, we have not paid enough attention to customer satisfaction over a number of years.
"From a survey point of view we have only looked at our internal surveys and I think we have missed things. It was clear to me we were not where we needed to be," he said.
