Fiat has opened its first dedicated secondhand car outlet under the Fiat Direct banner in Hayes, Middlesex.
The new site is part of a pilot the carmaker hopes to roll out to other areas of the UK to remarket ex-fleet vehicles. Ideal channel "Before we re-enter the fleet market we want a channel in place to facilitate the sales of our used cars, and this is an ideal way to do that," said Fiat Group Automobiles UK managing director Andrew Humberstone. "But for now, Fiat Direct will supply the whole country using the Internet coupled with the site's own brand of top quality service," he added. According to the carmaker Fiat Direct will offer more used cars than any other Fiat dealer. Big range "Nowhere else has the range of Fiat used cars that we have here," said Fiat Direct general manager Mark Brown. "We are offering cars that have effectively come direct from the manufacturer, so they are beautifully maintained." The premises features a curved showroom, workshop facilities and final preparation and hand over areas. The showroom attracted 200 guests and donations were made to Sparks, Fiat Direct's chosen children's medical research charity.
