Baylis Group has taken on the Vauxhall franchise in Worcester, replacing Bicknells, which recently went into receivership.
The company now has Vauxhall dealerships in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stroud, Hereford, Ross on Rye and Worcester. It also represents Chevrolet and Saab. New opportunity Although it is operating from the same site as the previous Vauxhall retailer in Cotswold Way, Baylis has not acquired the business of former franchisee Bicknells. Michael Baylis, managing director of the eponymous group said: "We are very pleased to be in a position to react to this new opportunity and to continue offering a full Vauxhall sales and servicing facility in the area. "This adds to the synergy of our operations in the Three Counties, complementing our other branches and extending the scope of the Vauxhall brand to both trade and retail customers." £56m turnover Baylis turned over in excess of £56 million last year and is ranked 169 in the Motor Trader Top 200 dealer groups in the UK by turnover. It employs 250 staff. The new centre at Worcester will have 30 employees, many of whom were previously employed at the Vauxhall franchise in the city. The group also has accident repair centres located at its dealerships at Gloucester and Cirencester and a stand-alone bodyshop in Cheltenham, which opened last year. Related Articles
