Just Car Clinics records 16% sales growth

Tuesday, 03 March 2009

Just Car Clinics, the independent bodyshop chain, has announced preliminary results for 2008 showing a 16 per cent increase in turnover to £42.6m, and like for like turnover growth of 4 per cent.

The group, consisting of 23 vehicle repair centres, recorded an increase in underlying profit before tax of 12.3 per cent to £1,307,000.

JCC said market repair volumes fell generally in 2008 through a combination of reduction in road traffic associated with high fuel prices and a decline in car residual values which has increased write off rates.

Despite this, the group increased like for like sales by focusing on increasing volumes from local business fleets, vehicle manufacturer approval programmes and accident management companies.

Gross margins for the year reduced to 41.7 per cent from 43 per cent in 2007.

The group put several cost-cutting measures in place, reducing the level of expenses as a percentage of sales by 1.2 per cent in 2008 to 38.5 per cent.
"I am delighted by another year of progress for Just Car Clinics despite the challenges presented by a difficult economic climate," said Barry Whittles, Chief Executive of Just Car Clinics.
