Just Car Clinics buys two bodyshops

The bodyshops employ 31 staff all of which are transferring over to Just Auto Clinics.

The sites will undergo a 12 week period of development and integration and the buildings will be re-branded Just Car Clinics.

Just Car Clinics chief executive Barry Whittles said: "These acquisitions complement our growth strategy to operate sites within close proximity to each other and are ideally located to infill and develop our presence in the Midlands region."

In September Just Car Clinics announced first half pre-tax profits of £563,000 but like for like turnover declined 4 per cent due to the downturn.

Seeking acquisitions

At the time Whittles said the group continued to look for acquisitions but "only where these meet stringent criteria" with regard to location, team structure, underlying culture, potential repair volumes and acquisition cost.

"The underlying economic conditions and volatility of the market present significant challenges for the group and these are expected to continue for the remainder of 2009.

"However, with a strong balance sheet and established management structure the board believe that Just Car Clinics is well placed to respond," he said.
