HR Owen offers £250K salary and bonuses for new chief executive

The listed group, number 76 in the Motor Trader Top 200, has appointed Hanson Green, the senior executive search company, to find a replacement and advertised the position, which comes with a £250K salary, in the Sunday Times (23 May).

The group has been in the news this month after Lancaster’s departure, which followed a strategic review instigated by new chairman Jon Walden, was swiftly followed by the resignation of three high profile directors: Nick Mason, Pink Floyd’s drummer, Tony Smith, the rock manager who’s clients have included Genesis and Phil Collins, and Ramon Pajares, the hotelier.

Bonus and benefits
The advertisement said the circa £250K salary also comes with a bonus, benefits and long-term incentive. The group is looking for someone with P&L accountability experience and said previous automotive experience is not a prerequisite.

Skills set
Candidates will be expected to lead a “strategic review of the business and the opportunities it has to increase the breadth and scale of operations”.

The advertisement said: “You will be an inspirational leader with strong strategic skills, consumer orientation and a track record of building successful businesses in sectors where high levels of quality and service are demanded and delivered.”
