Accountancy firm Campbell Dallas has appointed insolvency specialists Derek Forsyth and David Hunter as joint receivers. Strachans has been trading in Ayr for over 20 years, latterly running franchises with Proton and Chevrolet in addition to used car sales and a workshop. Forsyth said: “The business has been loss-making of late, leading to cash flow difficulties.” Forsyth said directors had tried to turn things around, but were unsuccessful, resulting in the loss of 30 jobs. Receviers are seeking a buyer for the firm.
