Campbell Dallas Chartered Accountants warned that while some dealers may have submitted uncapped claims, these could be substantially lower than those made by competitors. Nigel Roberts, head of VAT, said: “For these dealers, there is now a one-and-for-all opportunity to submit a revised claim and maximise the level of repayment.” Roberts also warned dealers to expect increased attention from VAT inspectors as they seek to recoup some of this tax.
