Charity calls for tougher mobile phone penalties
Wednesday, 28 February 2007
Road safety charity Brake has branded the new penalties for using mobile phones while driving as being too lenient .

A recent survey conducted by Brake revealed that while drivers were more informed about the dangers of using a mobile while driving, they continued to ignore the law. Brake called on the government to raise the penalty from £60 to £1,000 and give police power to confiscate phones from drivers.
