Road traffic in Great Britain is growing at a slower rate than predicted, according to official statistics.

Traffic grew by 0.2 per cent from 2004 to 2005, slightly less than provisionally estimated. The Department for Transport said the increase was below the average annual increases seen in recent years. Motorbike traffic showed the biggest increase, rising 5.4 per cent during the period.
