British car production slumped 15.2 per cent in April compared to the same month last year and it is now down 7.8 per cent for the year-to-date. Volumes fell to 118,572 units in April with 527,876 cars produced so far this year. The SMMT claimed the Easter break accounted for some of the production losses.
