Paris protests fail to sway PSA
Thursday, 25 May 2006
Peugeot has remained steadfast in its decision to close the Ryton plant despite a mass protest in Paris by workers from the Coventry plant and their European colleagues.

Workers went to Paris on Wednesday to lobby shareholders of the French car-maker. There were some scuffles as security guards tried to keep them away from the entrance as some elderly shareholders made their way to the meeting hall. PSA insisted the plant had to close because it was the most expensive to run in the company.
