Prosecutors issue Hyundai arrest warrant
28 April 2006
South Korean prosecutors have asked for an arrest warrant for Hyundai boss Chung Mongkoo on embezzlement charges.
Mongkoo is at the centre of allegations of illegal political lobbying and the company is suspected of creating a slush fund to pay politicians for political favours. Reports suggest prosecutors are also planning to bring in his son Chung Eui-sun for questioning but will not detain him.
