TVR axes jobs

TVR the Blackpool-based sports car maker is to lay off workers.

Unions said that around half of the firm's 300-strong workforce received a letter last week telling them to stay at home. TVR claims that less than half of the workforce is affected and that the cuts are a temporary measure following poor sales during the winter months. Union officials are due to meet TVR bosses to discuss the redundancies.
