Motor Trader has learnt that new car sales in the all-important plate change month would finish close to, or even above, last March's total of 701,506 units -- the second highest March on record. March sales are now the biggest monthly market for new cars, having overtaken September registrations in 2004, and account for almost 20 per cent of annual sales.
