Car rental firm Avis Europe has announced plans to axe around 200 jobs from its workforce over the next 18 months.
The firm is struggling to stave off fierce competition from its rivals and will attempt to cut costs by restructuring its business. The losses will be spread across its European headquarters, including operations in the UK. The group said 180 positions are also likely to be transferred from Manchester to the Barcelona call centre.
