SMMT wants role in road pricing debate

The SMMT has urged the government to work with it in reducing CO2 emissions and opening the road pricing debate during its presidency of G8 and the EU.

The SMMT said plans for road pricing should consider the motor industry, government and drivers.
Christopher Macgowan, SMMT chief executive said: “Congestion is an unacceptable cost to business and the environment. The industry holds the key to technology solutions so it makes sense for the SMMT to engage with all stakeholders.”
