Hyundai plants roots in the USA

Hyundai is set to make its presence felt in the USA with the opening of a US$1.

1 bn (£602 million) facility in Alabama.
This is the group's first manufacturing plant in North America and it is expected to create around 3,500 jobs in the area.
Bob Cosami, chief executive of Hyundai in North America, said the company's main competitors were the three big Japanese brands – Toyota, Honda and Nissan – rather than General Motors and Ford.
