Former Ford chief dies

Alex Trotman, the former chief executive of Ford Motor Company has died.

Trotman, 71, took the helm at the blue oval in 1993 and was succeeded by Jac Nasser in 1998. Trotman, who was British, worked for the car maker for 43 years having started his career in 1955 as a purchasing department trainee at Ford of Britain. He was the first non-American to head up the company.
