Honda used the British International Motor Show to reveal its latest generation of low emission concepts, all of which will go into production.

The brand’s low-emission sportscar concept was unveiled for the first time. The OSM, short for Open Study Model, is a two-seater and joins the confirmed for production CR-Z sports hybrid and FCX Clarity models which were also on show in London.

“We’re trying to show that low emission cars can be attractive,” said Andreas Sittel, OSM project leader. “There is no reason why a car that’s more environmentally friendly can’t look great and be sporty and fun to drive.” The brand also confirmed that an “affordable hybrid car is due to go on sale in the UK in the spring”. Visitors to the Honda stand could also view the Accord Tourer which is due to go on sale in UK dealers in September. Bernard Bradley, the brand’s general manager, said the London show was an important event for the brand which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. “We’re delighted to have a world premiere with the OSM and to be hosting the live action Dreamscape show. Over two weeks tens of thousands of visitors will attend the show and learn about Honda’s past, present and future. We’ve invested a lot in this event,” he said.
