Daihatsu claims it has defied the credit crunch after reporting a 32 per cent year-to-date sales increase and by expanding its retail network at a rate of one new dealer every two weeks.
The Coleshill-based Japanese importer has signed up eight new dealers so far this year and hopes to grow its current network of 120 showrooms to 140. “Dealers are the key to the fortune of Daihatsu in the UK,” said Paul Hegarty, vehicle distributors operations director.
“We are looking for committed owner-driver dealers with an excellent reputation in their communities for customer care.”
It is with this aim that Daihatsu is coming to Motor Trader's Dealer Drive on 20 May.
Hegarty added: For us the dealer creates the opportunity in the marketplace regardless of where they are located. It's all about attitude.”
The latest Daihatsu dealer appointments include: Newark in Crewe, Cist and Rattle of Bristol, Eastbourne Daihatsu, Chariton Motor House in Folkestone, and Lime of Leamington and Donnelly in Belfast.
