Citroen accused of Nazi stereotyping by MPs

New C5 advert comes under fire in the Commons
Citroen has been accused of Nazi stereotyping by a group of MPs over its latest television advert for the new C5. The ten cross-party MPs have signed a motion in the Commons calling for Citroen's Unmistakeably German ad campaign to be pulled, describing it as counterproductive.
According to the Brand Republic website, the advert, which describes the car as more German than the Germans, features a series of symbols that the MPs consider offensive.
Scottish Nationalist Party MP Angus Robertson tabled the motion. Citroen defended the advert, saying it had been cleared for broadcast and is humorous and fun. Watch the full video below. HAVE YOUR SAY

I am American and I really see no reason to contest this issue. I would think that there were more important issues at hand than a car advertisment. I also have a slightly ignorant question on this issue. I am a student in America studying media and I see the car is made in France and "pokes" at Germans, so why is the Scottish Nationalist Party involved? Maybe I am ignorant on how the government is organized in other parts of the country. If anyone can lend me some additional information I would be grateful. Thanks, Miss Case

Nothing wrong with this advert. Never saw any Nazi undertones at all. Just the manufacturer hinting that the style and build quality may be as good as the Germans.

This is ridiculous. It is a playful, funny advert. The symbolism is German. The Eagle is Prussian, not Nazi - nothing wrong with it.

With all the ill's of this country to put right I for one would have thought our MP's have something just a little more constructive to attend to than a car advert.

The goostepping sketch on faulty towers is often said on TV top ten shows to be the number 1 British comedy moment. Isn't that too German too? It should be pointed out that the motion was tabled by a Scottish Nationalist Party MP, joined by a mincing gang of Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Asian and Jewish MPs joining in the cultural punishment beating.
