Ken Brown takes the helm at CAP Monitor for commercial vehicles

VAN AND TRUCK specialist Ken Brown has taken the helm at CAP Monitor, the industry's leading guide to forecast new and used residual values for light and heavy commercial vehicles.

With over 35 years experience in the commercial vehicle industry, as well as an academic background in IT and economics, Ken is ideally placed to ensure Monitor maintains its unrivalled accuracy for customers in the fleet and retail sectors of the truck and van market.

After completing an HGV technician apprenticeship, Ken joined British Leyland's Car Division in 1979 before moving to Freight Rover Vans. Ken has spent most of his career working for the Birmingham-based light commercial vehicle manufacturer in a range of technical and sales and marketing roles during its ownership by Land Rover, Leyland DAF and then as the independently owned LDV.

With LDV, Ken was responsible for developing the VANfix software system which enabled the dealer network to efficiently quote inclusive service and repair prices, also pioneering the company's VANfit range of all makes aftermarket LCV parts.

He joined CAP from leading auto electrical and diesel fuel Injection specialist Leyland Auto, where he was an Area Sales Manager.

As Forecast Manager – Commercial Vehicles for CAP, Ken is responsible for maintaining and developing the breadth, integrity and accuracy of CAP Monitor as an essential risk management tool for the truck and van industry.
