Chevrolet has announced it is to sponsor the Football Matters Academies.
The scheme, which is headed up by former England midfielder David Platt, aims to promote football to youngsters aged 4 – 14 across the UK. The academies will be run during Easter and summer holidays at a number of football clubs and schools across the country, starting in London, Surrey, Birmingham and Manchester this Easter.
Each academy will cater for up to 150 participants offering kids training on sports journalism, physiotherapy, nutrition and leadership skills as well as football coaching.
“Our support of grass roots sport in the UK began with the successful launch of our Kids 4 Kids project back in 2007, the association with Football Academies is a great fit for Chevrolet and we're very proud to be involved,” said Rory Harvey, managing director of Chevrolet UK.
