Nationwide Autocentre, the independent servicing and MoT test centre chain, claims to have launched the UK's first MoT guarantee. The company is offering the new service which covers repairs, parts and labour worth up to £650, for an additional premium of £49.99. ![]() It covers areas such as lights, steering, suspension, brakes, seatbelts, and emissions. The company's 12-month guarantee on all its repairs applies to the new MoT offer.
“Having a car fail its MoT can be extremely costly and inconvenient,” said Nationwide CEO Duncan Wilkes.
“We have found that £650 covers the majority of things that can fail a car, even the most costly problems. The one-off payment means that drivers can book their car in for its MOT without worrying if it will pass or fail.”
The new initiative has been introduced to mark the 40th anniversary since MoT testing was introduced by the government in 1967.
