The group has acquired a site in Doncaster, which will operate under the Motor Nation name, and is eyeing up further acquisitions to help grow its used car division.

Motor Nation already operates sites in Birmingham, Coventry and Widnes.

Vertu said the expansion was in line with its strategy to expand its existing brands and develop strong used car operations.

“I am pleased we have delivered on our strategy to expand our Motor Nation brand
into this new geography for Vertu Motors,” said group chief executive Robert Forrester.

“The outlet has significant potential and is the Group's first entry into Yorkshire. It is our intention to continue to identify additional sites with which to expand Bristol Street Motor Nation.”
