The new car market in Western Europe was up 3.
12 per cent in January compared with the same month last year, according to figures from Jato Dynamics. The analyst said it was the third consecutive month to see a year-on-year increase and there was “cautious optimism” that there would be market stability in 2005. Renault led the growth in January, with its registrations up 14.3 per cent on the same month last year, to remain Western Europe's top-selling brand.
