Ford's senior management believes the plan to return to profit in 2009 is on track and major initiatives put into place last year are now paying dividends. Chief executive Alan Mulally, who has now been in the job for 12 months, said the company was recovering from its recent turmoil. ![]() “Inside Ford, things feel very different to a year ago,” he said.
Ford is set to launch six new products in North America this year and 70 per cent of the models in US showrooms will be new cars by the end of 2008.
These include the F-150 pick-up, the Flex large SUV, the Verve small car, and the new Explorer.
Chairman Bill Ford added that building a strong global marketing position, globalising product development and attacking the cost structure were all areas the company had made progress on.
