Kia denies disaffection rumours

Kia has claimed that rumblings of disaffection among dealers about ambitious sales targets are not representative of the network.

Nigel Clegg, chairman of the brand's dealer forum, told Motor Trader that the majority of franchise holders were happy and had seen “phenomenal growth”. Clegg was speaking after Kia reiterated plans to sell 45,000 cars this year compared with 33,000 in 2004. Retailers are also expected to spend £7,000 modernising their showroom interiors. Clegg said: “The targets are tough but this is a tough marketplace.”
