Fiat boss leaves company

Herbert Demel, the chief executive of Fiat Auto, is leaving the company following the £1bn settlement of the put option with General Motors.

He will be replaced by Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of the Fiat Group, who will head a restructured management team. Marchionne said a “profound cultural transformation” was underway at the company now that the dispute had been resolved.
