Last year Daihatsu unveiled ambitious growth plans that aimed to increase UK volumes to 10,000 units by the end of 2009.
Paul Tunnicliffe, Daihatsu UK's managing director, said the company was eager to take advantage of its status as a small car brand and the current climate for greener motoring.
Our manufacturer is greedy and aggressive for more volume, said Tunnicliffe.
As a small car franchise they see what's happening with the environmental lobbying and they want their share of it.
They're holding our feet to the fire for more volume which is good news for our dealer network.
