| Ford to unleash new performance Focus |

Ford has confirmed that it will bring a new high-performance version of its best-selling Focus to market. The Focus RS will launch in Europe in 2009, with a concept version of the car unveiled in mid-2008. ![]() Sneak peak: Ford hints at the new RS design The concept version has already been under development for some months within Ford's Team RS - the specialist rally division that was responsible for creating the Focus and Fiesta ST models. Production modelThe Focus project has now been given the green light and Team RS will fully concentrate on taking the car from prototype to production.
“We have reviewed our technical options and worked closely with the design team on how the car might look, and I'm very excited by the results,” said Jost Capito, the newly appointed vehicle line director for Ford of Europe performance vehicles.
“Now with the programme going ahead, the hard work really starts as the small team working on the project takes the car from prototype to production.”

Let just hope it rea... Let just hope it really is worthy of the Ford RS badge as we have not had a 4wd car since the Escort Cosworth,its going to have to be 4wd with 300bhp to compete with the Audi's etc,so unless this is on the cards I hope they won't bother.I just hope they don't go down the half hearted penny pinching F W D route that the company accountants will probably insist on. |
