Formula 1 is gearing up to host the first night race in its history.
Preparations at the Singapore street circuit have been steadily building ahead of the anticipated race date of 28 September next year after Singapore received initial approval from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) to host the event. The 5.067km circuit will be illuminated by 108,423m of power cables, 240 steel pylons and around 1,500 light projectors.
Singapore GP, the event organisers, said the race would run straight through the centre of the city, featuring multiple overtaking opportunities and challenging turns.
