Thursday, 17 February 2005
Insurance claims from Carlisle car dealers are running into “several million pounds” after recent floods in the town, according to Norwich Union.

Paul Redington, property claims manager at the insurer, said some individual claims had gone to seven figures. He said: “Our motor engineers inspected 400 vehicles, most of which were written off because they had been completely submerged in water.”
