Jaguar's website has been rated as more user friendly than those run by high street names like Magnet and Reebok by an internet survey.
Jaguar was judged to have produced the best consumer goods manufacturer website by Blast Radius UK, a web design and online marketing consultancy. The Ford-owned carmaker's site was also seen comparable with those of Avon Cosmetics, Clarks shoes and the French Connection clothing. Design flairJaguar's site received almost perfect scores for awareness, navigation, brand recognition, use of language and product categories.
Its design and photography were also praised.
“Jaguar showed a flair that is unlike most automotive sites,” said Blast Radius creative manager Lee Feldman.
Blast Radius chairman Gurval Caer said that Jaguar's victory was an indication that consumer goods makers were learning from retailers about using the internet to market their products and services.
Sites run by Volkswagen, Saab and Peugeot were also praised, and were rated sixth, seventh and tenth by the judging panel.
