Chartered accountant Denzil James Webber, who had served the organisation for three decades, had been director and secretary of University Motors and company secretary for Centrex. Webber became honorary treasurer for the charity in 1992. A Ben statement said: “He will be sorely missed by all, not simply for the professionalism, determination and passion he displayed for the fund but also for his kind and witty character.”
