Daimler finalises Chrysler split
Mercedes-Benz UK and Chrysler UK emerge from DaimlerChrysler

Daimler's de-merger from Chrysler has been finalised today.

Several organisational changes have been introduced following the separation of the two companies, along with a raft of name changes.

The Mercedes-Benz Cars and Commercial Vehicle business will now be known as Mercedes-Benz UK and the company's retail subsidiary will become Mercedes-Benz Retail Group UK.

From April 2008, DaimlerChrysler Financial Services UK will be known as Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK.

Name changes

Also from next April, DaimlerChrysler Fleet Management will be renamed Daimler Fleet Management UK and DaimlerChrysler Insurance Services will become Daimler Insurance Services UK.

The Chrysler Group has also made operational changes.

The business will rebrand as Chrysler UK and will take over head-office operations for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge.

The companies will continue to operate from their current sites and all UK staff will continue to be employed by the new or renamed companies.

Wilfried Steffen, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK, said: "Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler each have strong teams and brands that are already well established in the UK and they will continue to work with and alongside each other to strengthen further their respective businesses in this market."
