Alfa Romeo has appointed a new dedicated fleet team in the latest development in its business turnaround.
The brand said it now planned to triple fleet sales by 2009 compared to 2006 figures.  l-r: Nigel, Mandi and James Previously Alfa had shared the fleet department with other brands in the Fiat Group but now has its own three-strong team. Large fleet focusThe brand said its immediate focus would be on major contract hire companies, along with large fleet operators of 250 passenger vehicles and upwards.
Nigel Wight, who was previously with Mazda, will head up the new division as national sales manager.
He is joined by Mandi McGregor, who will handle fleet sales in the north of the UK, and James Watson, who will look after the south of the country.
Dealer changesThe latest development follows hard on the back of changes to the Alfa Romeo dealer network, which has undergone a significant overhaul.
Managing director of Alfa Romeo UK Christopher Nicoll said: “Just as we have addressed issues in the retail market, our offering to the fleet sector is stronger, better looking and more dependable than before.
“Without doubt, this dedicated team will deliver the levels of attention and support befitting the Alfa brand.”
