Mitsubishi Motors has been rapped over a magazine advertisement for its Outlander 4x4.
The advert claimed the car's fuel economy was “on a par with the most economical small cars,” and that it boasted class leading CO2 emissions.
However, the Advertising Standards Authority suggested government figures contradicted this, and said the green claim in the advertisement was 'inaccurate and misleading.' Quickly removedMitsubishi accepted the economy claim was inaccurate and said it had been quickly removed from the advertisement.
It said the quoted CO2 figures were taken from a website called cleangreencars.co.uk.
Meanwhile, a complaint against Volvo that a television commercial for its C30 model featuring 'a snarling rodent' would frighten children was rejected by the ASA.
