Crash repairers and insurers will have to get to grips with a growing market for recycled body parts.
According to David Murby, strategic development director with bodyshop software firm Audatex, environmental legislation such as the End of Life Vehicles Directive would meant that so called “green parts” would become more of an issue in the future. But he said that technology would be needed to locate write-off cars and procure components from them. Murby added: “This area is definitely going to expand – salvage will be a big market.”
