The Department of Transport and the Energy Saving Trust are to cut grants specifically given to Liquid Petroleum Gas vehicles.
According to the LP Gas Association, the decision was made due to difficulties with the current grant schemes and European legislation on state aid. Tom Fidell director general of the association said the Powershift grant scheme had served its purpose in developing the autogas market and claimed: “The industry is now sustainable without further grants.”
