Nanjing claims to have received an “overwhelming response” to its MG dealer recruitment campaign, buoyed by the imminent launch of the new TF sportscar.
The Chinese carmaker said it had received interest from dealers in the UK and abroad.
The majority of UK applicants are former MG dealers who are keen to revive their interest in the franchise.
Nanjing also claims that enquiries have been received from dealers holding other franchises including Citroen, Lotus, Renault, Mitsubishi, Mercedes and Vauxhall.
Brand appealStephen Cox, sales and franchising manager for NAC MG (UK), said: “We are delighted by the global interest which we have received and are also very encouraged by the high quality of the applicants.
“This is a true demonstration of the continued appeal of the MG brand, and an illustration of the confidence in a very promising future.”
The company is reviewing all applications and is due to announce the appointment of those who have satisfied its criteria.
