Prices for convertibles are rising despite the inclement British weather. ![]() Soft top: Average prices are now £13,718 The average price for a three-year old 30,000 mile soft top increased by £339 – equivalent to 2.4 per cent – in the first three months of the year.
The average price now stands at £13,718.
According to British Car Auctions, UK motorists buy more convertibles than any other European nation, with the Mazda MX5, BMW Z4 and VW Beetle soft top among the most popular models.
Seasonal variation“Values for convertibles are more seasonal than other models with prices rising in line with the temperature,” said BCA's network operations director Simon Henstock.
“With plenty of demand from buyers, we're expecting prices for convertibles to remain high and they could stay high all summer if the weather forecasters' promise of a long, hot summer comes true.”
