White cars are becoming easier to sell but still haven't caught up silver, blue and black models, according to the Cap Black Book vehicle valuation guide.

White cars are making a comeback
After a study of 49,000 recent used vehicle transactions, Cap found that almost half the dealers canvassed said white was now ‘more popular' than five years ago. Despite the rise in popularity, Cap also found that the value difference between white and non-white cars meant the former were worth between 5 and over 20 per cent less than identical vehicles in different colours.

Black and silver

Black and silver models remain the most popular. In the 1980s white was a popular choice for performance hatchbacks, particularly the Mk1 and Mk2 VW Golf GTi, but more recently white, along with gold and red, has fallen out of fashion. However, Volkswagen has recently started marketing white versions of the latest Golf GTi.
