Dealer Drive 2007: Countdown
22 May 2007
Dealers planning to take on a new brand can discuss franchising opportunities with key manufacturers at this month's Motor Trader Dealer Drive.
Now in its third year, Dealer Drive, sponsored by Experian, will be held on 24 May at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire. Visitors will be able to test drive the latest products from several brands around the venue's hill route and high speed bowl. Ford is using the event to kick off its national dealer recruitment drive and will also unveil the third-generation Mondeo several weeks ahead of it reaching showrooms.
We're putting a lot of resources into recruiting rural dealers and Dealer Drive will be the kick off, said Stuart West, Ford's manager of market representation. Other manufacturers at the event include Fiat, Citroen, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Chevrolet, Proton, Hyundai, Subaru, Isuzu, Daihatsu and LDV. The exhibition centre will also host stands from Gardx, Autoprotect, EurotaxGlass's, Carlyle Finance, Howes Percival, Eight Technology, Wayland Developments and Xpart. Entry to the event is free for qualifying managers but visitors must pre-register now to guarantee a pass. To register CLICK HERE. Seminar sessionsVisitors to Dealer Drive will be able to attend free seminar sessions offering dealer managers and owners advice on what to consider when taking on a new franchise or exiting from an existing one. The two 45-minute sessions will be introduced by Experian and will analyse the threats facing dealers. The main sessions will be presented by Malcolm Thixton, the specialist automotive partner at accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward, and will address exit conditions in franchise agreements as well as requirements of taking on a franchise.
