Dealers do like Mondays
27 April 2007
Mondays and Saturdays are the busiest days for dealers, while opening up the showroom on a Sunday returns the least business.
Research into dealerships throughout the UK, published by sales lead management company e-Goodmanners, showed that Mondays produce 20 per cent of car retailers' annual sales. Saturdays are not quite as strong but still account for 17.5 per cent of volumes. Sundays are the weakest day of the week with just 10 per cent of sales, followed closely by Thursdays at 12.5 per cent. Alan Hazlehurst, managing director of e-Goodmanners, said: It seems that people would rather purchase their new car early in the week in order to be able to have the weekend driving around in the new vehicle.
