The UK market for Dealer Management Systems is poised for a major shake-up following the arrival of US giant Reynolds & Reynolds to these shores.
While the brand is virtually unknown in the UK it is the biggest vendor of dealer software in the US following its formal merger this month with fellow domestic supplier Universal Computer Systems – the owner of the UK-based Kalamazoo. This consolidates Reynolds' proposition here as it acquired the UK-based DCS Automotive in May.
Reynolds is a blue chip player which has expanded as much as it can in the US and is now looking at Europe, specifically the UK, for growth. In the US it competes head to head with ADP, which in turn bought Berkshire based Kerridge in December, so the stage is now set for a major battle for DMS supremacy in the UK.
