The Lexus dealer network has been rated the best in the country for service and repairs.
Dealers with the prestige brand received a 78 per cent approval rating from customers in the influential Which? reliability survey. Porsche came second overall and Honda was third.
However, several prestige brand dealer networks found themselves near the foot of the table. Alfa Romeo was placed second from bottom and Jeep third from bottom. While Chrysler retailers were rated the worst overall for their service and repair work.
Neil Fowler, Which? editor, said the findings highlighted several prestige brands that needed to raise their dealer standards.
The survey also found a large price tag and a prestige badge do not guarantee reliability after the Jaguar X-Type was rated among the most unreliable cars.
Of the 406 models surveyed the Honda Jazz was rated the most reliable new car. Models claiming second spot included Honda's Accord and CR-V, Mazda 3, Renault Clio and Vauxhall Corsa.
